Simple, safe toys for curious minds

It started on a quiet weekend at home. I was watching my daughter play, surrounded by a sea of brightly colored plastic toys. Having spent the last few years working closely with wood and crafting it into beautiful pieces, it suddenly felt wrong. Here I was, dealing with premium timber every day, yet my own child was playing with plastics that easily break and end up in landfills.

Later that evening, I discussed this with Wife. We wondered why the timeless, natural wooden toys we remembered had been replaced by chemical-heavy plastics. When we looked for better options, we realized most mass-produced toys were coated in unsafe paints. Since we already understood wood, we made it our personal mission to create something better and safer for our own home. That is how Playwud was born.

Creating wooden toys with absolute safety standards was not easy. We refused to settle for anything less than perfection. We spent months traveling and met with more than 20 different manufacturers. Time and time again, we left disappointed because most suppliers simply could not meet the high level of care we demanded for children's products. We refused to compromise on safety just to make things easier.

Finally, after countless visits, we found exactly one manufacturer capable of bringing our vision to life. They were the only ones who could deliver the premium quality, fine details, and 100% non-toxic colors approved by global safety standards. With this perfect partner, the first Playwud collection was created.

Today, we work closely with our trusted maker to source the best sustainable wood and the safest natural finishes. We believe in the importance of touch and the warmth that natural materials bring to childhood. By choosing Playwud, you are not just selecting a toy; you are investing in a sustainable future and creating lasting memories for your child. Join us in celebrating the joy of safe, open-ended play with Playwud.
